Environmental and Net Zero Policy

1. Statement of Intent

Classroom365 is committed to responsible environmental management and to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040. We recognise that our ICT operations, supply chain activities and the products we provide to schools can impact the natural environment.

We aim to reduce this impact through responsible resource management, legal compliance, continual improvement and measurable carbon reduction.

2. Our Pillars of Responsibility

2.1 Waste and WEEE Compliance

We aim to ensure that ICT hardware handled by Classroom365 is reused, recycled or disposed of through appropriate certified partners, in line with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013, as amended.

We operate a “paperless first” approach wherever practical, using digital documentation and electronic processes to reduce unnecessary printing and physical waste.

2.2 Legislative and Regulatory Compliance

We comply with applicable environmental legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to our operations.

This includes, where applicable, the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Climate Change Act 2008, the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013, and other relevant UK environmental obligations.

Classroom365 maintains and reviews relevant environmental compliance obligations as part of its ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Where we supply ICT equipment, we consider product energy efficiency, lifecycle impact and supplier environmental credentials. Relevant energy-related products are regulated under the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010, as amended.

2.3 Carbon Reduction and Net Zero Roadmap

Classroom365 is committed to reducing emissions across the areas of our business that we can measure, influence and improve.

In line with relevant UK Government Carbon Reduction Plan guidance, including PPN 006 where applicable, we measure and review emissions across relevant scopes:

Scope 1 and Scope 2: reducing direct energy use and using renewable electricity contracts where available and practical.

Scope 3: reducing the impact of business travel, employee commuting, procurement and supply chain activity where we have influence.

Our current target is to reduce emissions by 29.4% by the 2028/29 financial year as part of our wider pathway toward Net Zero by 2040.

Classroom365 reviews and reports on carbon emissions and reduction activities annually through its Carbon Reduction Plan or equivalent environmental reporting process.

3. Implementation and Audit

We support this policy through practical action, staff engagement, supplier review and periodic environmental performance checks.

Employees are encouraged to reduce waste, minimise unnecessary travel, use digital processes where practical and consider sustainable travel options such as cycling, public transport and car-sharing.

We conduct periodic audits and annual reviews of our Carbon Reduction Plan to identify areas for improvement and maintain transparency.

This policy and our associated environmental objectives are managed in line with our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, supporting the continual improvement of environmental performance.

4. Approval and Review

This policy is reviewed annually or sooner where there are significant changes to legislation, business operations, environmental risk, customer requirements or ISO management system requirements.

This policy has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors of Classroom365 Limited.
